The outcome of this design was a low-silhouette extremely high quality vehicle with tremendous firepower that many historians believe to be the best tank destroyer of the war.

Motor City Classics Armored Fighting Vehicles

The Motor City Classics "Armored Fighting Vehicles" range presents affordable, ready made diecast models of military vehicles in 1:43 scale.

Motor City Classics "Armored Fighting Vehicles" diecast vehicles feature:

Diecast metal and plastic construction.

Rotating turret, elevating cannon and accurate hull.

Fitted, non-moving tracks and detailed non-rotating wheels.

Realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details.

Clear acrylic display case to protect model.

online-only-m18-hellcat-us-army-805th-tank-destroyer-btn-black-cat-italy-1944-afvs-of-wwii-143-23189-44
(Online only) M18 Hellcat - US Army 805th Tank Destroyer Btn, Black Cat, Italy, 1944 / AFVs of WWII 1:43 23189-44

M18 Hellcat

US Army 805th Tank Destroyer Btn, Black Cat, Italy, 1944

AFVs of WWII 1:43 23189-44

The 805th TDB was formed in December 1941. After US entry into World War II and the formation of the Tank Destroyer Force, a suitable vehicle was needed to equip the new battalions. The prototype of the M10 was conceived in early 1942 and delivered in April that year. After appropriate changes to the hull and turret were made, the modified version was selected for production in June 1942 as the 3-inch Gun Motor Carriage M10 (or M10 GMC). It mounted a 3-inch (76.2 mm) gun M7 in a rotating turret on a modified M4 Sherman tank (the M4A2 production variant) chassis. During World War II, the primary user of the M10 tank destroyer was the United States, but many were Lend-Leased to the United Kingdom, Canada and Free French forces.

M10 Wolverine

Designed to fulfill a new combined-arms doctrine that emphasized the need for infantry support and exploitation, the M10 tank destroyer first entered service in Tunisia in 1943. Called "Wolverine" by the British (a name that was never adopted by US soldiers), the M10 was lightly armored and therefore more maneuverable than a typical tank. Its powerful 3" M7 gun fired armor-piercing M79 shot, which made it an effective weapon against enemy tanks. Upon its debut it was capable of destroying most German tanks, but by 1944 the newer German Tiger and Panther proved too formidable for it, though it remained in service through the end of the war.

AFVs of WWI Armored Fighting Vehicles

The Motor City Classics "Armored Fighting Vehicles" range presents affordable, ready made diecast models of military vehicles in 1:43 scale.

Motor City Classics "Armored Fighting Vehicles" diecast vehicles feature:

Diecast metal and plastic construction.

Rotating turret, elevating cannon and accurate hull.

Fitted, non-moving tracks and detailed non-rotating wheels.

Realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details.

Clear acrylic display case to protect model.

mclaren-mcl36-no3-daniel-ricciardo-australian-grand-prix-mclaren-formula-1-team-bburago-143-18-38064dr
McLaren MCL36 No.3 Daniel Ricciardo - Its 76.2 mm (3 in) tank gun was more powerful than its contemporaries while its 60 degree sloped armour provided good protection against anti-tank weapons. The Christie suspension was inherited from the design of American J. Walter Christie's M1928 tank, versions of which were sold turret-less to the Red Army and documented as "farm tractors", after being rejected by the U.S. Army. The T-34 had a profound effect on the conflict on the Eastern Front in the Second World War, and had a lasting impact on tank design. After the Germans encountered the tank in 1941, German general Paul Ludwig Ewald von Kleist called it "the finest tank in the world" and Heinz Guderian affirmed the T-34's "vast superiority" over German tanks. Alfred Jodl, chief of operations staff of the German armed forces noted in his war diary "the surprise at this new and thus unknown wunder-armament being unleashed against the German assault divisions," although its armour and armament were surpassed later in the war. The T-34 was the mainstay of Soviet armoured forces throughout the war. Its general specifications remained nearly unchanged until early 1944, when it received a firepower upgrade with the introduction of the greatly improved T-34-85 variant. Its production method was continuously refined and rationalized to meet the needs of the Eastern Front, making the T-34 quicker and cheaper to produce. The Soviets ultimately built over 80,000 T-34s of all variants, allowing steadily greater numbers to be fielded despite the loss of tens of thousands in combat against the German Wehrmacht. Replacing many light and medium tanks in Red Army service, it was the most-produced tank of the war, as well as the second most-produced tank of all time (after its successor, the T-54/T-55 series). With 44,900 lost during the war, it also suffered the most tank losses ever. Its development led directly to the T-44, then the T-54 and T-55 series of tanks, which in turn evolved into the later T-62, that form the armoured core of many modern armies. T-34 variants were widely exported after World War II, and as recently as 2010 more than 130 were still in service.

AFVs of WWII Armored Fighting Vehicles

The AFVs of WWII "Armored Fighting Vehicles" range presents affordable, ready made diecast models of military vehicles in 1:43 scale.

AFVs of WWII "Armored Fighting Vehicles" diecast vehicles feature:

Diecast metal and plastic construction.

Rotating turret, elevating cannon and accurate hull.

Fitted, non-moving tracks and detailed non-rotating wheels.

Realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details.

Clear acrylic display case to protect model.

(Web only) M26 (T26E3) Tank "U.S.A. 2nd Armored Division Germany April 1945" AFVs of WWII 1:43 - 23194-45

M26 (T26E3) Tank

U.S.A. 2nd Armored Division

Germany April 1945"

AFVs of WWII 1:43 No. 23194-45

The M26 Pershing was a heavy tank/medium tank of the United States Army. It was withdrawn in 1951 in favor of its improved derivative, the M46 Patton, which had a more powerful and reliable engine and advanced suspension. The lineage of the M26 continued with the M47 Patton, and was reflected in the new designs of the later M48 Patton and M60 Patton. The T26E3 was the production version of the T26E1 with a number of minor modifications made as the result of field testing. Early versions still had the dry ammunition stowage, direct vision slots for the driver and the 60-degree hull glacis (89 mm/3.5 in). The 3071 next had wet ammo stowage and a newer commander cupola. Most of all, it featured the new liquid-cooled Ford V8 500 hp engine, which was capable of giving a top speed of 42 km/h on road (26 mph), and a 209 km (130 mi) range. The suspension was the unchanged VVSS, but the transmission was now protected by a one-piece cast steel armored cover. Driver vision slots were augmented by bullet-proof glass and protective covers. Mid-production they also saw the adoption of duckbills, extended end connectors for the tracks, which improved the grip on soft terrains. Early series also saw extra 25 mm (1 in) thick applique armor welded over the ammo storage bins and the turret gunner position, later removed. By 1943-44, the recognition white stars were usually painted black or olive drab in order to mask them to enemy gunners, which used them as an aiming point.

AFVs of WWII Armored Fighting Vehicles

The AFVs of WWII "Armored Fighting Vehicles" range presents affordable, ready made diecast models of military vehicles in 1:43 scale.

AFVs of WWII "Armored Fighting Vehicles" diecast vehicles feature:

Diecast metal and plastic construction.

Rotating turret, elevating cannon and accurate hull.

Fitted, non-moving tracks and detailed non-rotating wheels.

Realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details.

Clear acrylic display case to protect model.

(Online only) M24 "Chaffee" Tank n°3 "U.S.A. 1st Armored Division Italy April 1945" AFVs of WWII 1:43 23196-45

M24 "Chaffee" Tank n°3

U.S.A. 1st Armored Division

Italy April 1945"

AFVs of WWII 1:43 No. 23196-45

The M24 Chaffee - arguably the best light tank of World War II - was a fast, lightly armored vehicle with the ability to deliver relatively large caliber direct fire thanks to its excellent 75 mm M6 gun. More than 4,000 vehicles were produced by Cadillac and Massey-Harris from 1943-45. The first vehicles reached Europe in late 1944, where they proved very effective and highly reliable. At the outset of the Korean War, however, American forces equipped with the M24 Chaffees performed poorly against the enemy's T-34/85s, and these US units were soon augmented with M26 Pershings and M46 Pattons, along with M4A3E8 Shermans armed with the long 76mm gun. The Chaffee remained in American service until 1953, at which time it was eventually replaced by the M41 Bulldog. After 1945, the M24 Chaffee was used by many American allies. The French army used them in Indo-China, including at the battle of Dien Bien Phu. The official German ordnance designation was Sd.Kfz. 141. It was intended to fight other armored fighting vehicles and serve alongside and support the similar Panzer IV, which was originally designed for infantry support. However, as the Germans faced the formidable T-34, more powerful anti-tank guns were needed, and since the Panzer IV had more development potential with a larger turret ring, it was redesigned to mount the long-barreled 7.5 cm KwK 40 gun. The Panzer III effectively swapped roles with the Panzer IV, as from 1942 the last version of Panzer III mounted the 7.5 cm KwK 37 L/24 that was better suited for infantry support. Production of the Panzer III ceased in 1943. It was equipped with four M2 Browning 0.5-inch (12.7 mm) machine guns in an M45 Quadmount. 2,700 examples were produced by White Motor Company between May 1943 and March 1944, with 568 MGMC M13s and 109 T10 half-tracks also converted to M16s. Based on an M3 half-track chassis, it replaced the M13 MGMC half-track after the beginning of 1944. As aircraft became more advanced, the M16's usefulness was reduced. During the Korean War, it was relegated mainly to a ground-support role, being decommissioned from the US Army in 1951. Nicknamed the "Meat Chopper", the M16 was famous for its effectiveness against low-flying aircraft and infantry, making it extremely popular with soldiers.

Militaria DieCast Armored Fighting Vehicles

The Militaria DieCast "Armored Fighting Vehicles" range presents affordable, ready made diecast models of military vehicles in 1:43 scale.

Militaria DieCast "Armored Fighting Vehicles" diecast vehicles feature:

Diecast metal and plastic construction.

Rotating turret, elevating cannon and accurate hull.

Fitted, non-moving tracks and detailed non-rotating wheels.

Realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details.

Clear acrylic display case to protect model.

Jeep Willys 1/4-Ton Utility Truck Olive Drab with Trailer

"US Army"

Militaria DieCast 1:43 No. 23203-43

The M20 armored utility car was an armored car used by the United States during the Second World War. More than 8,000 of the type were produced in eleven marks, plus various specialized variants, accounting for approximately a quarter of wartime British tank production. The many variants included riveted and welded construction, petrol and diesel engines and a progressive increase in armament. It was supplied in large numbers to the USSR and built under license in Canada. It was used extensively by the British in the North African campaign. Developed by Vickers, it proved to be both strong and reliable, which was unusual for British tanks of the period.

AFVs of WWII Armored Fighting Vehicles

The AFVs of WWII "Armored Fighting Vehicles" range presents affordable, ready made diecast models of military vehicles in 1:43 scale.

AFVs of WWII "Armored Fighting Vehicles" diecast vehicles feature:

Diecast metal and plastic construction.

Rotating turret, elevating cannon and accurate hull.

Fitted, non-moving tracks and detailed non-rotating wheels.

Realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details.

Clear acrylic display case to protect model.

( Web Only ) 1999 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor -
