It was a single-engine carrier fighter with permanently mounted fuel tanks at the wingtips, armed with four 20 mm (0.79 in) guns and a wide assortment of air-to-ground ammunition. The Panther won the Navy's first air victory by shooting down a North Korean Yak-9 and had underestimated dogfighting capabilities. But it was better known as a tough bird that brought its pilots home, including three famous Korean War pilots: Ted Williams, the slugger of the Boston Red Sox, and future astronauts John Glenn and Neil Armstrong. The model is about 4.75 inches long and has a wingspan of 5 inches.

The postage stamp die-cast metal, historical airplanes include aircraft from WWI to present.
