It is produced by the Mil Helicopter Plant in Moscow and was introduced by the Soviet Air Force in 1972. The helicopter is currently used by 58 countries.

In NATO circles, the export versions, Mi-25 and Mi-35, are designated by a letter suffix as "Hind D" and "Hind E". Soviet pilots called the Mi-24 the "flying tank", a term used historically with the famous Soviet Il-2 Shturmovik armored ground attack aircraft of the Second World War. Other common unofficial nicknames were "Galina" (or "Galya"), "Crocodile", because of the helicopter's camouflage scheme, and "Drinking Glass", because of the flat glass plates surrounding the cockpits of earlier Mi-24 variants.

Panzerkampf Aircraft

The Panzerkampf range presents affordable, ready made diecast models of military aircraft.

Panzerkampf diecast airplanes feature:

Diecast metal construction with some plastic components.

Realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details.

Pad printed markings and placards that won't fade or peel like decals.

Interchangeable extended/retracted landing gear with rotating wheels.

Authentic detachable ordnance loads complete with placards.

Selected moving parts such as canopies, control surfaces and swing-wings.

https://passiondiecast.com/products/mil-mi-24v-hinde-white-05-soviet-army-kandahar-1986-panzerkampf-172-14005pb
