PIA - Pakistan International Airlines Airbus A310-300 / AP-BEU
JC Wings 1:400 XX40250
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is Pakistan's flag carrier, founded in 1955 following the merger of Orient Airways' assets. It operates a fleet of approximately 32 aircraft, serving destinations in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America. Its main hubs are located at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi (primary hub), as well as in Lahore and Islamabad. In the 1960s, PIA built an excellent global reputation. It was the first Asian airline to operate a jet aircraft (the Boeing 707) in 1960. It was also the first airline from a non-communist country to fly to the People’s Republic of China in 1964. During its heyday, PIA collaborated with leading designers, such as Pierre Cardin, for its flight crew uniforms. It also helped establish and train staff for airlines that are now industry giants, such as Emirates in the 1980s. The airline began a privatization process, which culminated in the transfer of ownership to the private consortium Arif Habib Limited in 2026.
The Airbus A310-300 with registration number AP-BEU (serial number MSN 691) was a wide-body airliner operated by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). It was added to PIA’s fleet in the 1990s as part of the airline’s efforts to modernize its regional and international routes. The aircraft was notably used for inaugural and scheduled flights to Europe, such as PIA’s first route connecting Lahore to Barcelona in March 2009, as well as routes to Denmark.
The aircraft has since been withdrawn from service and is listed as abandoned or in storage at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi (KHI).
