The Boeing 747-400LCF Dreamlifter N718BA is one of the most extraordinary cargo aircraft ever created. With its enormous oversized fuselage and instantly recognizable profile, the Dreamlifter was not designed to carry passengers, but to perform a critical mission: transporting major Boeing 787 Dreamliner assemblies between Boeing’s global manufacturing and final assembly facilities.

The 747-400LCF, meaning Large Cargo Freighter, was developed from the Boeing 747-400. Its fuselage was extensively modified to provide an enormous cargo volume capable of accommodating complete fuselage sections and other 787 components far too large for conventional freighters.

Its most spectacular feature is the enormous swing-tail loading system. The rear fuselage can swing sideways, opening the aircraft for loading and unloading oversized components directly into its massive cargo compartment.
