JF-A319-005
The Alitalia Airbus A319 I-BIMI represents an important era in Italian aviation, when aircraft from the Airbus A320 family formed one of the backbones of the famous national carrier’s European and Mediterranean network.
A shortened member of the A320 family, the Airbus A319 combined excellent efficiency with impressive range for a single-aisle aircraft. Its compact size made it especially versatile, perfectly suited to services between major European cities as well as routes where the capacity of a larger A320 was not required.
For Alitalia, the A319 played an important role in short- and medium-haul operations, connecting major Italian hubs with destinations throughout Europe and the Mediterranean while feeding passengers into the airline’s wider international network.
Registered I-BIMI, this aircraft wears one of European aviation’s most instantly recognizable liveries: a white fuselage, elegant green cheatline, and the famous red, white, and green Alitalia “A” on the tail. For decades, this unmistakable identity became synonymous with Italian commercial aviation.
Since Alitalia ceased operations in October 2021, models representing the airline have gained an additional historical dimension, preserving the memory of a carrier that flew the Italian flag around the world for more than 70 years.
In 1:200 scale, this JFox model offers impressive display presence while beautifully showcasing the elegant proportions of the A319 and the distinctive Alitalia livery.
