Eastern Air Lines, founded in 1926, was one of the “Big Four” U.S. airlines, famous for its routes along the East Coast and its use of the Boeing 727 “Whisperjet” beginning in 1964. Following labor disputes and financial difficulties, the airline ceased operations in 1991.

The Boeing 727-100 N8164G was an iconic three-engine jet of that era, operating for Eastern between 1967 and 1982. It was used on the busy East Coast routes, particularly from the hubs in Miami, JFK (New York), and Atlanta.
