KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (in Dutch, Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij) is the national airline of the Netherlands. Founded on October 7, 1919, it is the oldest airline in the world still operating under its original name. It is headquartered at and operates out of Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport and has been part of the Air France-KLM Group since their merger in 2004. KLM offers scheduled flights to hundreds of destinations around the world, carrying tens of millions of passengers each year. It serves Europe, the Americas (with a long-standing presence in Canada, particularly in Montreal), Asia, and Africa. The airline is known for its iconic blue color and high-quality service. It also relies on its regional subsidiary, KLM Cityhopper, to operate short- and medium-haul routes within Europe.
KLM’s fleet consists of approximately 122 aircraft, primarily comprising Boeing models for long-haul routes (Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner), Airbus models for medium- and long-haul routes (A321 NEO and A350-900), and Embraer models for regional routes (Embraer E175, E190, and E195-E2)
The Boeing 777-306ER registered as PH-BVA, operated by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, made its maiden flight on January 24, 2008, and has for several years featured the famous “Orange Pride” hybrid livery, celebrating Dutch heritage and the airline’s national pride.
