Junkers Ju 87 Stuka
The Junkers JU 87 Stuka was a German diver bomber and a ground attack aircraft used during the Second World War. With its distinctive seagull wings, nicknamed the "Jericho Trumpet", the Stuka played a decisive role in the first victories of the blitzkrieg war and became a symbol of German air power. The Stuka had a crew of two men who dropped bombs with astonishing precision. They had innovative dive brakes to slow down the dive and give the pilot more time to aim his bomb, with automatic ascent in the event of a power failure induced by the antifreeze. Although the Stukas were very effective against land and naval targets and were used throughout the war, they did not prove effective against faster enemy fighter aircraft.
This JU 87 was used mainly as a low-level ground attack aircraft towards the end of the war and flew to Furth in May 1945.
The postage stamp die-cast metal, historical airplanes include aircraft from WWI to present. They are fully decorated with authentic details and come with a display stand. Wingspans are from 4 1/2" to 8".
