Hobby Master 1:200 HL9025
NASA operated two C-121Gs in the late 60s and early 70s in support of the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo space programs. They were originally leased to NASA in 1963 as NASA 420 and NASA 421. In June 1969 they were re-registered N420NA and N421NA respectively. NASA 421 was used to calibrate ground tracking stations, flying pre-planned routes globally. This allowed technicians to test systems that would support astronauts in space. The aircraft was retired after the Apollo 17 mission in 1972 and was later scrapped.

Designed as a stretched version of the successful Constellation design, the Super Constellation was first flown on October 13th, 1950.
