When it was commissioned in the summer of 1940, the German battleship Bismarck was the largest warship ever built. Moving more than 50,000 tons at full load, the Bismarck was very well armed and had superior endurance qualities, which made it particularly well suited in its role as a ravaging force in the commercial convoy field. Despite these advantages, its career was shortened because during its first mission. Designated to intercept convoys between the United Kingdom and North America, the Bismarck sank the British battle cruiser HMS Hood in the Strait of Denmark, and was sunk two days later by a retaliation force of British ships and Swordfish biplanes.
Forces of Valor warships are featured:
Die-cast metal construction with some plastic components.
Rotating turrets, lifting guns and precise hull.
Realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details.
Pad-printed markings and labels that will not fade or flake like decals.
Presentation display.
