B-17G No. 43-38525 was delivered to 418 Bomber Squadron of 100 Bomber Group in September 1944 and was given the name "Miss Conduct". It was heavily damaged by Flak and German fighters in October but managed to return to its base at Thorpe Abbots (Norfolk, England) where it was repaired and soon ready for new missions. In March 1945, it lost two engines to Flak over Germany, but managed to make an emergency landing in Belgium on the way back. Miss Conduct survived the war and was flown back to the United States in the summer of 1945.
