Northwest Airlines Boeing 727-200 / N298US

Gemini Jets / 1:400 / GJNWA2354 GJ2354

Northwest Orient Airlines, the trade name of Northwest Airlines from 1947 to 1986, embodied the ambition to connect the United States with Asia. Founded in 1926, the airline was a pioneer in the North Pacific, linking Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, and Manila, and playing a central role in the growth of trans-Pacific air travel. In the United States, Northwest Orient was also a major player in the domestic market, introducing iconic aircraft such as the Boeing 707, the Boeing 727, and the Boeing 747. The airline remains famous for the fascinating story of the unsolved D.B. Cooper hijacking in 1971, as well as for several incidents that occurred in the 1960s. In 1986, following the acquisition of Republic Airlines, Northwest dropped the “Orient” from its name and became simply Northwest Airlines. Despite financial difficulties and filing for bankruptcy in 2005, the airline continued its legacy until its merger with Delta Air Lines, finalized in 2010, marking the end of an era but retaining its influence in modern aviation.

The Boeing 727-200 N298US, nicknamed for its ruggedness and efficiency, perfectly embodies the spirit of the airline. An extended version (+6 m) of the 727-100, this narrow-body aircraft became a true “workhorse” on U.S. and Canadian domestic routes, offering capacity and versatility for medium-sized runways and remaining an iconic symbol of Northwest Orient Airlines’ history.

The Gemini Jets 400 series includes collector's models designed for collectors by collectors.
  • a Die-cast metal construction, including the wings
  • Realistic panel lines, access panels and surface details.
  •  Printed markings and closets that do not fade or peel like stickers.
  • Extended metal landing gear and rubber tires.
  • Display stand to display the aircraft "in flight".
