The United Arab Emirates Air Force (UAEAF) is the air component of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces. Nicknamed “Mini Sparta,” it is considered one of the most powerful, modern, and well-trained air forces in the Middle East. With a strength of approximately 4,000 personnel, the UAEAF operates a mixed fleet estimated at nearly 600 aircraft. The spearhead of the Emirati defense force includes F-16E/F Block 60 “Desert Falcon” (advanced and custom-designed) and Mirage 2000-9 aircraft. The country has also placed a historic order for Dassault Rafale aircraft to modernize and standardize its strike fleet. The Boeing C-17A Globemaster III, registration number 1228 (serial number 50248/F247), is a strategic and tactical transport aircraft operated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Air Force. It was built by Boeing in 2011 and delivered that same year to strengthen the UAE Air Force’s force projection capabilities. The aircraft is regularly used for troop transport, oversized heavy cargo transport, and international humanitarian aid missions. Its ability to take off and land on short or rudimentary runways makes it a major asset for the UAE.
