A unique livery created to showcase WestJet's customer-service promise!  The Boeing 737-800 C-GWSZ, fleet number 812, holds a special place in WestJet history thanks to its distinctive “Care-antee” colour scheme.

Delivered new to WestJet in February 2010, C-GWSZ immediately stood apart from the airline's regular fleet. WestJet used the aircraft to promote its customer-service philosophy through the “Care-antee” concept — a clever combination of Care and Guarantee. Particularly fitting for a Canadian aircraft, the design was bilingual: “Care-antee” appeared on one side of the aircraft, while “La garantie qui tient” appeared on the other.

With its colourful graphics and appearance dramatically different from WestJet's standard livery, the aircraft became easily recognizable at Canadian airports and throughout the airline's network. Period photographs document C-GWSZ wearing the special Care-antee colours as early as April 2010.

The Boeing 737-800 itself played a major role in WestJet's expansion, providing the capacity, range and efficiency required for routes throughout Canada as well as services to the United States, Mexico and popular sun destinations.

But the story of C-GWSZ became even more remarkable. After nearly four years in its Care-antee colours, the aircraft was repainted in December 2013 into another special scheme that would become even more famous: the Walt Disney World “Magic Plane” featuring Mickey Mouse. It would wear its Disney colours for more than a decade.

This CModel 1:400 miniature therefore captures C-GWSZ during a very specific chapter of its career — before its incredible transformation into WestJet's Disney Magic Plane.
