McDonnell Douglas EF-18A Hornet

Designed to replace the A-4 Skyhawk and the A-7 Corsair II and in addition to the F-14 Tomcat, the F / A-18 first flew on November 18, 1978. Perhaps best known as the US Navy Blue Angels aircraft, this all-weather supersonic fighter capable of carrying passengers, has many roles, including fighter escort, fleet air defense and close air support. The F / A-18 is a versatile aircraft: it can operate from carriers or ground bases and a single switch converts it to hit mode. During Operation Desert Storm, the F / A-18 demonstrated that during a single mission, an aircraft could serve as both a fighter and a bomber.

Between 16 and 27 May 2016, the Spanish Air Force ALA 15, located at Zaragoza Air Force Base, hosted the NATO Tiger Meet for that year. 97 aircraft took part in the exercise during the two-week event, making it the largest NTM in the event's history. In honour of the NATO Tiger Meet, most of the aircraft were given a kind of paint with the marks of a tiger. ALA 15 EF-18A 15-01/C15-14 received a very elaborate scheme on its tail and tanks.
