Boeing F-15E Strike Eagle

USAF 3rd WG, 90th FS Pair-O-Dice,

no. 88-0705, Elmendorf AFB, AK, August 2005

Hobby Master 1:72 HA4576

In 2005, the 90th Fighter Squadron "Pair-O-Dice," based at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska, operated the F-15E Strike Eagle, a dual-role fighter designed for air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. The squadron trained extensively in Arctic conditions and participated in joint exercises to maintain readiness for rapid global deployment. Equipped with precision-guided munitions, the F-15E allowed the 90th FS to project power across the Pacific region and beyond. That year marked the final phase of the unit's F-15E operations, as preparations began for its transition to the fifth-generation F-22A Raptor, reflecting a shift in strategic capabilities.

Boeing F-15E Strike Eagle

Designed to meet US Air Force requirements for an air superiority fighter to replace the F-4 Phantom, the F-15 Eagle first flew on July 27, 1972. Following reviews of proposals, the United States Air Force selected McDonnell Douglas's design in 1969 to meet the service's need for a dedicated air superiority fighter. Since entering service in 1976, it is among the most successful modern fighters, with over 100 victories and no losses in aerial combat, with the majority of the kills by the Israeli Air Force.

Hobby Master "1:72 Air Power Series" diecast airplanes feature:
