TWA - Trans World Airlines Boeing 767-200ER / N601TW / V1:400 Models / 1:400 / 400005
TWA stands for Trans World Airlines, a former American airline that merged with American Airlines in 2001.
Trans World Airlines' Boeing 767-200ER N610TW was delivered in 1983 as part of TWA's transition to operating twin-engine, wide-body long-haul aircraft. Powered by Pratt & Whitney JT9D engines, the aircraft flew transcontinental routes and then resumed TWA's transatlantic services, notably to London and Paris. It sported early versions of TWA's classic red-striped livery before transitioning to the final livery with the globe on the tail in the 1990s. After TWA merged with American Airlines in 2001, N610TW was incorporated into the AA fleet, but its use was limited. The aircraft was eventually retired when the 767-200ER fleet was phased out.
