Eastern Airlines Douglas DC-9-14 / N8901E / V1:400 Models / 1:400 / 400010
Eastern Air Lines was a scheduled airline in the United States that operated from 1926 to 1991. Before its dissolution, it was headquartered at Miami International Airport in an unincorporated area of Miami-Dade County, Florida.
Douglas DC-9-15 N8901E was delivered to Eastern Air Lines on April 26, 1966. Known as one of Eastern's earliest "Whisperjet" DC-9s, it flew the airline's short to medium-haul routes in the late 1960s. It was briefly leased to Delta Air Lines in 1970–71, then returned to Eastern. In 1979 it was transferred to Texas International, and later, in 1982, became part of Continental Airlines before ultimately ending its life as HK-3839X with Colombia's Intercontinental de Aviacion.
