Qantas Airways, founded in 1920 in Queensland, is Australia’s leading airline and the third oldest in the world. Nicknamed “The Flying Kangaroo,” it is renowned for its safety record and operates flights between Australia and the rest of the world from its hubs in Sydney and Melbourne. A founding member of the Oneworld alliance, Qantas also includes the low-cost carrier Jetstar, launched in 2004. The airline operates a modern fleet, including the Airbus A380 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner. It is famous for having had no fatal jet accidents since 1951. As part of its “Project Sunrise,” Qantas aims to offer direct ultra-long-haul flights, such as Sydney–London, without stopovers.

The Airbus A321-271NY (XLR) registered VH-OGB and named “Outback Way” is an ultra-modern long-haul single-aisle aircraft delivered to Qantas in 2025. It is configured to accommodate 200 passengers and is primarily deployed on domestic and regional routes in the Asia-Pacific region.
