Aeroméxico is Mexico's leading airline, founded in 1934 under the name Aeronaves de Mexico. It was nationalized in the 1950s and renamed Aeroméxico in 1972. After facing financial difficulties and undergoing privatization in the 1990s, it joined the SkyTeam alliance in 2000. Based primarily at Mexico City International Airport (MEX), it operates domestic and international flights to North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, relying heavily on a modern fleet of Boeing aircraft (737 and 787 Dreamliner).

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, registered as N815AM, rolled off the assembly line at Boeing’s Charleston (CHS) facility and was delivered to Aeroméxico on December 16, 2025; it entered commercial service on January 17, 2026. This aircraft features one of the airline’s new visual identities/liveries. It regularly operates the airline’s major transatlantic and long-haul routes, connecting Mexico City and Guadalajara to international hubs such as Madrid (MAD), Amsterdam (AMS), and Paris.
