Grumman F9F Panther  Blue-tail fly    

The F9F Panther was Grumman's first jet and was widely used by the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps as the primary fighter and ground attack aircraft during the Korean War. It was a single-engine carrier fighter with permanently mounted fuel tanks at the wingtips, armed with four 20 mm (0.79 in) guns and a wide assortment of air-to-ground ammunition. The Panther won the Navy's first air victory by shooting down a North Korean Yak-9 and had underestimated dogfighting capabilities. But it was better known as a tough bird that brought its pilots home, including three famous Korean War pilots: Ted Williams, the slugger of the Boston Red Sox, and future astronauts John Glenn and Neil Armstrong. The model is about 4.75 inches long and has a wingspan of 5 inches.
