The 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), shortened to 160th SOAR (A), is a U.S. Army special operations force that provides helicopter air support to special operations forces. Missions include attack, assault and reconnaissance, and are generally deployed at night, at high speed, at low altitude and on short notice. The MH-60 series helicopters are a highly modified version of the U.S. Army's standard Black Hawk. They are flown only by the 160th SOAR. The primary mission of the MH-60 Black Hawk helicopters is to provide medium-utility support to special operations forces such as Navy Seals, Delta Force and the 75th Army Ranger, in a wide range of environmental conditions.
