The SAS Jeep, used by the British Special Air Service during World War II, was a modified Willys Jeep outfitted for desert warfare and deep penetration raids behind enemy lines. Typically armed with twin-mounted Vickers K machine guns, known for their high rate of fire, these jeeps were capable of delivering rapid suppressive fire against enemy personnel and vehicles. Modified with additional fuel tanks, stripped-down armor, and sand tires, the SAS jeeps were adapted for extended operations in harsh desert conditions. Used in daring raids against Axis airfields and supply lines, these jeeps played a key role in disrupting enemy logistics across North Africa

The Willys Jeep was a compact, four-wheel drive vehicle that rapidly became one of the most prolific vehicles of WWII. More than 640,000 standardized versions were produced, with 8,690 other versions built over a period of four years.
