The Polish Air Force operated the MiG-21MF, a late-production variant of the Soviet-designed fighter, from the early 1970s until the early 2000s. The MF (Modernizirovannyy Forsirovannyy) version featured an improved R-13-300 engine, enhanced avionics, and the RP-22 radar, enabling better missile guidance. Armed with R-3S, R-13M, and R-60 air-to-air missiles, it played a key role in Poland's air defense during the Cold War. The MiG-21MF served in multiple fighter regiments before being replaced by western aircraft like the F-16C/D Fighting Falcon in the 2000s.
