Mazda MX-5 1989 Argent

Launched in 1989, the Mazda MX-5 overnight revived a vehicle segment for which market research from almost all car manufacturers predicted no future: the small, purist roadster in the tradition of English and Italian cars. Instead of the 5,000 vehicles planned for the first year, nearly 141,000 were sold. The MX-5's worldwide success spawned numerous imitations, but with a few exceptions, they were discontinued without successors.
