Its transition in 1995 to the powerful MH-53E Sea Dragon expanded its reach and capabilities across key strategic regions, until its deactivation in 2007.

Sikorsky MH-53E Sea Dragon
Designed to meet a US Marine Corps requirement for a heavy-lift transpory helicopter to replace the CH-37 Mojave, the CH-53 was first flown on October 14th, 1964.
