ITA Airways is Italy’s national airline, founded on November 4, 2020, under the name ITA (Italia Trasporto Aereo), to replace the former Alitalia. It began operations on October 15, 2021, the same day Alitalia ceased operations. It was established as a viable, restructured public company, independent of its historical predecessor. Lufthansa acquired a significant stake in ITA Airways to secure its European and international future.

ITA Airways’ Airbus A350-900 XWB, registered as EI-IFC, is a large long-haul passenger aircraft that entered service with the Italian airline to strengthen its intercontinental network. Assembled in Toulouse, this aircraft bears serial number 323. Its structure is composed of more than 50% composites (carbon fiber) to reduce weight and fuel consumption. It has been integrated into the Italian national carrier’s fleet as part of the modernization and expansion of its long-haul routes.
