Lockheed F-35I Adir

IDF/AF 119th Sqn, no. 68, Israel, "what if"

Hobby Master 1:72 HA4447

Israel became the first country to select the F-35 through the United States government's Foreign Military Sales (FMS) process when a Letter of Agreement was signed in October 2010. The Israeli Air Force (IAF) gave the F-35 the Hebrew name Adir, meaning "Mighty One" in Hebrew. On June 22, 2016, the IAF received the first F-35 Adir for Israel. The IAF's F-35 fleet was declared operationally capable in December 2017, marking the completion of an intensive integration and training effort conducted at Nevatim AFB, Israel.

Although the 119th (Bat) squadron does not currently fly the F-35, this model asks the question: What might a Bat squadron F-35 look like? Wearing the three-tone desert camouflage scheme currently seen on their F-16I Sufas, this model represents a ficticious 119th Squadron F-35I Adir.

Lockheed F-35I Adir

Designed to meet the US Military's requirement for a multi-role Joint Strike Fighter, the F-35 was first flown on December 15, 2006. This single-seat fighter is one of the most advanced aircraft of our time, said to be four times more effective at air-to-air combat and eight times more effective at air-to-ground combat than any other existing aircraft. It uses a low-maintenance stealth technology, and some versions have an innovative Lift System, which gives the F-35 vertical take-off and landing capabilities. The US plans to buy a total of 2,443 F-35s at a cost of $323 billion, which makes the F-35 the most expensive defense program in history.
